What this is
One place to read the Torah, the Prophets, the Psalms, the Gospel and the Recitation, in English and in the tongues they were given in, and to hear them read aloud. Nothing is sold here, nothing is advertised, and you are asked for nothing.
قُلْ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنِّى رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ جَمِيعًا ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ ۖ فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ٱلنَّبِىِّ ٱلْأُمِّىِّ ٱلَّذِى يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَكَلِمَٰتِهِۦ وَٱتَّبِعُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ
Say, "O mankind, indeed I am the Messenger of The God to you all, to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. There is no deity except Him; He gives life and causes death." So believe in The God and His Messenger, the unlettered prophet, who believes in The God and His words, and follow him that you may be guided.
To all people. Not to one nation, and not to one age. The Lord God Almighty has sent to every nation a messenger, and the word that came to each of them came from Him. That is why they are set side by side here and not one above another.
What is not here
- No commentary. There is no tafsir and no exegesis anywhere in this app, and no scholar is quoted above the text. Nothing is explained on the Lord God's behalf.
- No rulings. Nothing here tells anyone what they must do. Where the scriptures are read differently by different people, the words are set down as they stand and the reading is left to the reader.
- No silent changes. Every translation is named, and where a translator's English says something the original does not, the word is rendered as the original has it and the change is written down further down this page.
- No advertising, no tracking, nothing to buy. What is kept, and what is not.
One Creator, many names
The Creator of the Heavens and the Earth has many names in many languages. He has made more languages than we could ever study or know. Let none of them stand between us and coming together to worship Him, by His grace.
Yahweh is The “Father” is Allah is Jah is Jehovah is Dios is The Lord God Almighty is The Most Merciful One is The Most High One. Every tongue that has ever praised Him has found its own way to say His name.
We write “Father” in speech marks. The Lord God is unique: He has fathered no one and nothing shares His nature. The word is the way Jesus the Messiah taught us to address Him, with love and trust, and He has commanded that we call Him by the best of names.
On “Father” and “son of God”
If you grew up hearing this, you grew up hearing it from the scriptures themselves, and there is nothing careless in that. The Lord God calls Israel “my son, my firstborn” (Exodus 4:22), and calls him out of Egypt as a child He loved (Hosea 11:1). He says of Solomon, “I will be his father, and he shall be my son” (2 Samuel 7:14).
In the Psalms the king is told, “You are my son. Today I have become your father” (Psalm 2:7). The Children of Israel have read those lines for three thousand years. Christians grew up with the angel’s word to Mary beside them (Luke 1:35). Nobody arrived at this on their own.
And none of us is perfect. Some of the people who wanted the best for us have called us son, and we have called others son. A friend’s father might say it. It is a habit of the world we were born into, and a warm one. It does not mean anyone has lain with anyone’s mother.
Which is, perhaps, the whole of it. In every place above, the phrase says who someone belongs to and who loves them, not who begot them. Israel was not begotten. Solomon had a father already, and his name was David.
Even Adam is called it, in the line that traces the Messiah back to him: “the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God” (Luke 3:38). Adam had no father at all. It is a word about belonging.
When the Messiah taught his disciples to pray, he said “our Father” (Matthew 6:9). Our, not his alone. The Lord God is no more the Messiah’s father than He is ours, which is to say not at all in the way a man is a father. He has fathered no one (the Recitation 112:3), and He has not taken a son (19:35).
The Messiah called himself the son of Man, which is the son of Adam (Mark 2:10, Matthew 8:20), and the Recitation calls him the servant of The God (19:30).
So the difference is a small one, and we think it matters: we are not children of God, we are children who belong to the Lord God Almighty. We may be wrong, and we hold nothing against anyone who reads these verses otherwise.
We write it as plainly as we can, by His permission and by His grace, and we ask Him to correct us where we have it wrong.

What is here, and what we changed in it
- The Bible is whole. The Old Testament and the whole New Testament, the four Gospel accounts first and the Acts, the letters and the Revelation after them.
- The divine name is rendered by the best of names. In both the World English Bible and the King James Version, what the source texts write “Yahweh” and “the LORD” is set down as The Lord God wherever the Hebrew carries it.
- The Recitation is rendered fully into English. It is shown in the Uthmani script with the Saheeh International translation: the translators' bracketed insertions are removed, Arabic terms are translated, and Allah is written The God, which is what the name means, al-ilāh, the God, so that all may understand.
- The Hebrew and the Greek are the scholars' own. The Hebrew from the Leningrad Codex following the Qere and the Greek from the Nestle-Aland text, with their literal glosses, come from the Translators Amalgamated Hebrew Old Testament and Greek New Testament by Tyndale House, Cambridge, published by STEPBible under CC BY 4.0.

The one who built this
Karim Mohammed son of Smail
Karim Mohammed son of Smail built this, by the grace of the Lord God. He is just a believer, and a messenger who makes a lot of mistakes.
It was made plain to him, in the Recitation, that the People of the Scripture are on nothing until they uphold the Torah and the Gospel and follow what the Lord God reveals (5:68). He holds that worshipping the Lord God Almighty together matters more than the differences that keep us apart.
He asks the Lord God to accept it, to correct what is wrong in it, and to make it of use. Perhaps others will join him in it, if the Lord God Almighty is willing.
